Auto-posting is off by default and only happens if you explicitly opt a specific rule into unattended posting. We use Google OAuth (no password ever touches our servers) and we pace actions to stay well within YouTube's daily limits. The tool was built with YouTube's spam policies in front of us the whole time.

Plans differ on how many channels you can connect. The paid tiers raise the number, and the top tier is built for agencies running several channels at once. Rules, the tone profile, and the review queue are scoped per channel, so one channel's spam list never affects another.

Comments on Shorts are comments on a video, so the same pipeline applies. Local keyword rules and the blocklist hide spam, triage sorts the rest, and replies queue for approval. There is no separate Shorts-only mode to configure.

Do I need to keep YouTube Studio open?

No. RippleFlow talks to the YouTube Data API in the background, polling for new comments on a five-minute interval (thirty minutes on the free plan). Moderation and drafting happen on the server, so you can close the tab and the queue will be waiting when you come back.

A poll costs one API call, and a keyword rule costs none because matching runs locally before the API is touched. Writes are the expensive part: posting a reply or changing a comment's status spends quota. RippleFlow tracks your daily pool and pauses before the ceiling, so a busy day slows the queue instead of failing.

What actually happens when a comment is hidden?

It disappears for everyone except the person who wrote it. They are not told, and they can keep commenting, so hiding is a filter rather than a ban. It is reversible, and every hide is recorded in the moderation log so you can see exactly what a rule did.
